Listened to a lot more this year so hoping to see one or two on there again :)
Right now I'm loving Caladan Brood's album Echoes of Battle. Epic black metal think Summoning if you don't know them!
Yeah I know them, they started strong in the beginning of the year, they were in my top 10 and had good chances of ending in my annual top 50 but I left them out after all xD, I honestly think there were better releases. I also think maybe the Summoning release stole part of their glory...
There was one clear winner this year for me, 3 guesses who it was :p. I'm semi-expecting a miracle to see both Darkspace and Vektor releasing their stuff before 2014 (and some others as well), so I'm generally holding back my list for now.
Hmmm, not sure. Need to revisit some of the releases first :3
I was surprised by how well received Finntroll's Blodsvept was, it wasn't bad and heard a few of their tracks from the album live. Ghost's Infestissumam was great, Watain's The wild hunt, Tyr's Valkyrja is one of my favourites so far, those faroes really know how to produce something great.
I guess you're right about Summoning, though I do think Old morning's dawn wasn't too bad, not quite their earlier stuff/stronghold <3
hm, what else... can you count Kreator's dying alive as part of this? One of my favourite setlists by them and the dvd was well put together (with the mosh cams :D)
New Sodom, October falls, Poisonblack, Suidakra.
