Hi.
My friend asked me to build him a entry lvl gaming PC for 500€, but then I don't know much about building a PC, but still a bit more than him.
Anyways I came up with 2 solutions:
1.
CPU: Amd FX-8320
MBO: Asrock 970 EXTREME 4
GPU: Nvidia GTX 650 Ti 2GB
MEMORY: KINGSTON HyperX Blu 8GB (2x4GB) 1600Mhz
SSD: KINGSTON KC300 120GB SATA3
+ cooling
2.
CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-2400 Processor
MBO: ASRock Z68 Pro3
GPU: Ati HD7790 1GB
MEMORY: KINGSTON HyperX Blu 8GB (2x4GB) 1600Mhz
SSD: KINGSTON KC300 120GB SATA3
+ cooling
I know both AM3+ and 1155 are dying, but what else could I have chosen for him for this money?!
He already has a PSU(CM 750W) and a HDD which he wants to keep.
Would you please correct me if you think I would change something for him.
Thanks in advance.

500,85 here to be exactly
you can take any 270, or B85 motherboard with random 8GB ram.
Also if you make a gaming pc, invest the most in the GPU for example a FX-6300 would have been better in the first config with a more powerful gpu. The GTX650ti and 7790 are weak compared to the 270
But if you play mainly battlefield 4 for example, an fx is good also because it will use all cores.
Also price performance ratio is prettty good on AMD, and unlike Intel you can overclock any AMD model and that is a big plus for me.
My 1055T Thuban is locked, still i overclocked it from 2,8 to 4GHz just HT overclocking.
And bulldozer was a complete fail, my thuban is better than bulldozer in most situations. Piledriver is a good improvement. We will see how much AMD improved with going to 28nm and steamroller in january.
It's important that AMD keeps at least a bit competitive because else there won't be much progress from Intel. You can already see Intel slowing down with their roadmap.
