ET immediately minimizes on startup (WIN7)

Hi all!

I desperately need a solution for the following problem with ET on win7. When I start the game it immediately "minimizes" and will not even appear in the taskbar/system tray afterwards. The process ET.exe keeps running in the background which I then have to kill manually. I updated all my drivers, updated PB, tried all compatibility modes with admin rights, set process affinity to 1 core only, etc to no avail. (I do not have any minimizer installed.)

Has anyone encountered this problem before? I fail to find any similar issues on the internet from the past.
Below are my specs:

HP ProBook 6555b
Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit SP1
AMD Phenom II N620 Dual-Core 2.8ghz
320MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series
4,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz

Tried using a default config (removing old ones from profile/folder etc?) any conflicting software like an anti virus that could cause it?
Never had this issue before x)

Hey, I'm running it with default cfg. If I run it automatically with etpro the above happens, if I remove "+set fs_game etpro" from command line then the game starts in etmain but after 3 seconds in the menu, the cursor in game becomes unavailable and the Windows cursor appears on the screen instead, after which the only way the exit the program is to ctrl+alt+del and end the ET.exe process. I made sure to turn off antivirus and also stopped all other applications before starting ET. Problem remains:\

That's odd.
First thing I'd be doing is just get the ET pack from here and install it again to see if the problem persists.

Might be monitor resolution/game conflict, check your cfg.

Thanks but it will be something else :\ Tried to run ET in 1024*768 (desktop resolution set 1024*768 as well) then tried to run in 1366*768 (laptop native) - still the same issue

I'm 99% sure it's a resolution issue, tried different r_modes? Check what cfg you load ET from (should be etconfig.cfg in etpro or etmain=> profiles=> ET Pack).

Install ET from the basics, start with the old 2.55 client. Try to run the game, then install 2.6 patch, then 2.6b patch, always check if the problem is still there. If a clean 2.55 installation without any added stuff is still bad, then u have a driver issue probably (mostly graphics driver problem, u should downgrade graph drivers to an older version :/ ).
