BenQ monitors?

a friend of mine is trying to choose between some BenQ monitors, but doesn't know shit about monitors (nor do I). does anyone know which of these is better or if they're even 120hz? this is gonna be with a gaming PC too, so 120hz is neccessary.

monitors:

BenQ GL2023A (Monitor 19,5" LED 12M:1 200 cd/m² 5ms)
BenQ GL2250 (Monitor 21,5" 12M:1 250cd/m² 5ms)
BenQ GL951AM LED (Monitor 19" 12M:1 250 cd/m² 5ms)

danks!!

If they are under £100 they won't be 120hz.
This.
Also if you are indeed looking for a 120hz, the only two real options you have are BenQ XL2411T and Asus VG248QE.

How does the XL2411T compare to the Z-version? Isn't the latter supposed to be better or did you just exclude it because of these firmware issues?
Parent
Excluded because I wasn't even aware they existed, up until now. :P

Yo man, I think you should take the Z version, it has a Z which makes it super super cool

You should really say that this friend has boobs, that might increase the amount of help offered.

None of those are 120Hz, only their XL24s and XL27s are.

She wants to get on your level

If you want fast framerate and best quality color then BenQ XL2420TE but thats a $400 monitor
If you want best framerate and almost no ghosting and fastest response time then ASUS VG248QE ( best monitor for CS:GO) around $300 but often goes on sale at $230.

I made alot of research in the past month , asus one if my next purchase.
Evidently your research didn't cover the fact that the XL2411T is far superior AND cheaper than the 2420TE.
Parent
far superior? It's like the same monitor without the footswitch , touch controls and runs native 144hz rather than 120hz with 144hz possibility. Gives a slight almost imperceptible differance.

ASUS one is still cheaper AND has better refresh latency + better antighosting.
Colors are crappy before adjustment though.

crt > lcd if we are talking about gaming

The fact that he listed only HD monitors might mean that he doesn't want a CRT.

Currently using the BenQ XL2411T Monitor, The only 120hz i have used and would deffo recommend it.
Might be an updated version about now.
I use the BenQ XL2411T @ 120hz (Lightboost only works with 120hz, not 144hz as far as I know); I am very happy with it from an ET / Quake perspective, and it's definitely a step up from the 1st generation of 120hz LCD screens.

With the Lightboost feature, you can eliminate most of the crappy ghosting that affects older screens; colours aren't great with Lightboost enabled, but you can turn it on and off easily using Strobelight - http://www.blurbusters.com/easy-lightboost-toastyx-strobelight/.

I also used the Asus VG248QE @ 120hz with Lightboost, and the only reason I sent it back was due to a faulty screen (looked like it had been mishandled); colours looked a bit worse than on the BenQ in my opinion but other than that it was fine.
However it looks like BenQ have a new set of monitors (Z series) that use BenQ Blur Reduction, and apparently this gives a better picture than Lightboost.
