render loop region only (loop the region before to avoid black space (e.g 0 -> 1:40)
many moviemakers are using megui for something like that, so save the file to avi and then convert the avi to mp4 or mpg3 or smtg like that
dont use fraps, use the local recording program
intro are mostly made with after effects, hard to explain, check youtube

What mental said, also try to record your footage with higher video settings and in 1280x720 or 1920x1080, try to record in a higher framerate aswell so you can add motion blur for a smoother running video.
and remove your hud with "cl_draw_only_deathnotices 1"
