mx518 all the way
just buy:
Zowie EC1/EC2 eVo (just that EC2 is a bit smaller, otherwise same mouse)
Puretrak talent
Izi game izi life
I use the free one I got when I bought sofas XD
MX518 - loved for 3 years, thought it got damaged so I switched it with Steelseries Ikari Optical (in the end I found out that it was my mobo that was causing mouse problems - so I sold MX518 to my friend who used it for another few years)
Steelseries Ikari Optical - it was actually decent performing mouse, but build quality is horrible (double click problems in ~1 year)
Logitech G400 - best mouse I had used to date, smooth, flawless; however I broke its cable :(
Logitech G400s - after I broke the cable on G400, I needed something to play with - since G400 was unavailable at the time, I bought this new version - twice as expensive, half of the performance. I either got one with faulty sensor or there is something very wrong with it. It was skipping big time on my PureTrak Talent, maybe it didn't really like the hive pattern.
today I should be receiving my new Zowie EC1 eVo CL, I am really wondering what it is about.
As for mousepad: I once had QcK heavy, then I switched to Everglide Titan MonsterMat for few years (same surface in terms of smoothness, but much more durable). Since it got discontinued, I switched to PureTrak Talent - decent mousepad, liked Titan a bit more. But, few months ago I bought Artisan Hayate Soft L - at first I was like "hmm, too smooth", but after a week of getting used to I think I am not going to switch back to PureTrak Talent. Hayate provides very smooth surface, very controllable with enough friction to provide very precise movement stops on flick shots. I like it but it costs quite a lot.
