My question is why sometimes game starts with r_mode 4 (when in my config/etconfing etc is for example r_mode 6). I have to do just vid_Restart. WHy is that? I dont see any connections with that. Sometimes it starts with r_mode 4 and sometimes with r_mode 6 (which is in config). WHat is going on?
Which etconfig files it loads? Ive heard about 3 etconfig files but i Can find only one in etmain/profiles/name/etconfig.cfg and same way in etpro folder. Moreover sometimes I feel that my config is loaded sometimes not. I mean, its really subjective, but somedays my acc is really low,stats are fucking low. Then I start et.exe again for antoher game with same opo and it is 10% higher, tracking is really intuitive (more hs etc) And it is not like one map or sth I play good, but a lot of games in a row. The only diffrence is starting et.exe again Is this placebo or just I dont know abour something. It is impossible to have skill drops few times a day.
And I dont use any cheats etc ofc :P

and by the way check console if there's any valid cvars
2nd part. aim relies on way to many things to say what it is. did you have a good night of sleep before, did you warmup before playing, did you masturbate furiously and now your arms are tired, eyes tired from playing a lot, dirt on mousepad, dirt in mousesensor, etc etc so
Solution is actually simple:
create
autoexec.cfg
open it, do
exec nameofyourcfg.cfg
Open your cfg
seta com_crashed 0
seta r_mode 6
save, close
Go profiles, name of your profile folder, open ETCONFIG.cfg
-press CTRL+F
-write r_mode
-overwrite what you have there to the one you are using 6
- erase r_mode, write com_crashed -> overwrite to 0
GG SOLVED
E: re the second part, ET is ridiculously shit made (hitboxes or hit registering to be specific) a lot of factors can have influence on that (listening to music at YT/Soundcloud, uploading, downloading, watching stream, or simply your internet settings and of course in some aspect your PC hardware)... You can hit different every 2seconds if you have someone using the same internet btw :P
What can I say? :)
RIP
I found only that the diffrences come up after restarting ET for sure.
If you launch the game directly to etpro or another mod, it uses the file /etpro/profiles/profilename/etconfig.cfg.
If you have an autoexec.cfg it will automatically change things when you start the game.
All configs belong in etmain folder, to do things the most simple way. If you put a config in etpro folder it WILL exec that one instead of etmain one but there's no real reason to do this as you can easily keep all your config files in etmain because each mod falls back to etmain if it can't find it in the mod's folder.
The case which it would be useful to have config files in a mod folder is for example:
1. antman's spawn selector config.
2. disabling pmove_fixed for noquarter servers (because there's some bug with that not letting you connect).
Maybe bobika can help me too...
for example..
You connect to a server using xfire, it starts ET.exe (etmain) then connects to the server and finds out it's etpro so it loads your etconfig.cfg from etpro. One easy and fast way to resolve these issues is this:
1. Make sure you have your config in etmain, with the settings you wish to use. Don't bother with autoexec, delete the file completely.
2. Go into all your mod folders and delete the etconfig.cfg that you use under your profile name.
3. Start ET.exe and type this:
/exec configname
4. Switch to the other mods you play and do the same exec.
Alternatively, you could run the game, "/cvar_restart", "/exec configname", then switch to the other mods and repeat the restart/exec cycle.
There is a way, delete all your cvar_backup.cfg and etconfig.cfg in profiles/nameofyourprofile in both etmain and etpro folders, put your cfg (or the part with GFX settings) into both and do:
- create shortcut of ET.exe (name it smth different, like ETblabla)
- right click -> properties
- in TARGET -> "D:\WolfensteinET- PUBLIC\et.exe" "+set fs_game etpro"
- Start it, exec your cfg, go to a server, check if it's ok
- Quit ET by opening console /QUIT
- Go to your ETPro folder, go through Profiles/blabla -> find ETConfig.cfg
- ctrl+c -> ctrl+v (the whole profiles folder) to etmain, replace everything from it
- Save somewhere else also in case your ET goes full retard and cvar_restarts itself and gg
TBH, a really big thank to both of u. How do u know this shit? Cuz Ive tried a lot of things (I was close, cuz I always did cvar_restart and exec cfg, but only one time. Then I was switching to etpro mod and without execing cfg one more time my cvars were a little bit diffrent - my game was fucked up. Sometimes I ve reached that state of cvars by random actions, but now, after fucking months of trying and ur advices, I know everything about it).
Where did u find info about this methods, cuz Ive never seen that in the internet.
Thank u again. <3
