Upgrading PC Help?

Hi CF,

My computer has been really slow lately on the desktop and in games (csgo for example), i'm guessing it is my low ram maybe. (only 2gb and windows normal processes take up 1.2gb)
So as Christmas is coming, I was thinking of upgrading a few components.
So this is where I need help, here is my config :

Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate Edition ‎(X64)‎

Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 640 clocked at 3 GHz
Number of cores: 4 physical, 4 logical
Processor socket: Socket AM3 (938)

Motherboard: MICRO-STAR INTERNATIONAL CO.,LTD GF615M-P33 (MS-7597) 1.0

Chipset: Northbridge : NVIDIA GeForce 7025 Revision ID: A3
Southbridge : NVIDIA nForce 630a Revision ID: A2

Memory: 2 GB total memory type DDR3 Memory timing: 9.0 clocks-9 clocks-9 clocks-20 clocks-1 TT
Memory chip OCZ from 2 GB
Maximum frequency: 667 MHz
Max bandwidth: PC3-10700H

Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 5570

Harddrive: Harddrive WDC WD50 00AADS-00S9B SCSI Disk Device from 465.76 GB

Which components need upgrading asap ?
And what ram would be compatible ?

Or should I simply just build a new pc as everything is shit?

Thanks for any help !

Everything is shit after 3years anyway, but gfx and ram(+ propably motherboard too is needed to upgrade), cpu is okayish, check power supply is it enought(550w is enought for any modern computer). Think about ur HDD, how much u need space for files, do u need ssd(propably not)...thats it I guess. Make sure ur case has enought space for new gfx(good air flow is nice to have too, so no too small/tight case)
Power Supply is 650W.
Thanks for your reply, kinda confirms what I was thinking.
It is running slower than my iMac G3 at the moment though ha

How long do you have that gfx card tho?
ssd 60 go (cs:go + os), gfx card (gtx 750 ti/ 760 / 970) depending on your budget + powersupply.

you could add 2 or 2x4 go ram, oc your cpu with a good cpu cooler, or change it to fx 4xxx or fx8xxxx if you have the budget and if you're mobo is compatible
wait for overclockers deals on barebone bundles or something http://www.overclockers.co.uk/productlist.php?groupid=2833&catid=2836

depends on card you'd want a better psu to power it all

Depends on ur budget purely, if u can afford new PC then it would be most wisely to just upgrade it, as u will notice that changing one component will require u to change another and so on with the chain reactions components have nowadays.. Otherwise prolly mobo + ram to at least 4-8GB as this one is bottlenecking ur pc badly.
Many computer shops sell "upgrade bundle kits" which normally include a minimum of a motherboard, RAM sticks and CPU. This is a good choice if you are on a budget and what things to be compatible with what you have at home. Just be sure to check if your chassi supports mATX and/or ATX for motherboards.

Another good option in your case is to just buy a pre-built computer from your local computer shop. It can be a bit pricey but the advantage with this option is that you normally get a minimum of one year warranty from the shop.

Print out your computer specifications that you listed here and have a chat with your local shop dealers.
