ET crash and buzzing noise - drivers?

Ok so after many years i finally got ET downloaded and working, so it usually lets me play for around 30 mins before crashing and a constant buzzing noise comes from the speakers. I have a feeling it could be the drivers for my cards

I have 2 GTX 780 Ti cards with 1000PSU supply with windows 8.1
I decided to change to game to run with only 1 card as I read that the cards could be pulling too much power when it is not needed.

However still getting the crashes? any takers on what it could be?

Take a look at bios ram settings. Got same problem once, my motherboard was working at 1366 MHz (tweaked or sth, not 1333 dont remember what was wrong) and my RAM was 1333 MHz max, so I had to lower this setting - worked well with 1067 MHz. Just notice if the problem appears in every game, or even when you are, for example, using browser (esp. when the flash is working - youtube and so on). I got the same problem but it was always crashing - gaming whether watchin yt - does not matter.

Motherboard is MSI c45-770, ram is Patriot DDR3 Gseries 2x2Gb.

Up: Yes, maybe u should get crap pc for ET. Now i'm trying to play at lenovo ideapad i5, 16 Gb ram and gforce gt 755 m SLI and it's sometimes slow as fuck, fps is dropping etc... Dunno, watchdogs max at full hd tv with no problems, same with sleeping dogs definitive, asetto corsa etc. This is madness.

Ok mate, The problem only arises when playing ET, farcry 4 or any other game i've played runs absolutely fine, its probably something to do with the game being old and my hardware is from out of space. Ill take a look at that though MarB cheers.

Yo mate, i've got the same problem with ET crahsing after 10/15mins..

Tried to instal ET, and putted ET.exe as "run as administrator" but that didnt help..
Also tried to play on a lower mode and displayrefresh, but that doenst work either...

You have found any solutions how about make ET work?

I dont think it's got anything to do with audio drivers, i doubt audio drivers would cause a crash?

Try it and thank me later, atleast Realtek HD audio drivers are causing this kinda problem at some point

Got the same problem.. I can play ET for 5/10 mins before crashing and a constant buzzing noise comes from the speakers.. I tried to run ET as administrator but that doesn't help..
I play ET on windows 7, but i have no clue what drivers or graffic cards i have
When i play CS;GO my pc works fine.. dont have any probs with that..

Problem is with pb. I had same problem when i played with enabled pb. Disable pb, restart game and will be fine. But If u want play with pb on some pub u have to uninstall all programs like vtune, easy tune, speedfan etc and play without crash.

i cant find a download link of the lastes Enemy Territory pkbuster..

Also when i want to add game (downloaded battlefield 3 pb) ET is not in the list, so cant find any updates if so...

I noticed that i cant update pb, pb doenst support et anymore..

So do you any solutions?
Im not familiar with programs as vtune, easy tune, speedfan.. Never heard of and dont know if i even have these programs on my computer
I like to play NBS public, so playing without punkbuster is no option :s

You have to check your system...sometimes when you install pack drivers for motherboard you install included programs like easy tune....Maybe show me your list of installed programs..

Btw sometimes PB has problem with soundcard .... try update drivers or try play with soundcard off and we will see if it is a problem.

1st - uinstall "system requirements lab detection" and check

2nd - Disable soundcard and check

Yes u have to disable your soundcard (better in BIOS) for example realtek or what u have.
We will see if it is a problem. If yes you will need buy cheap USB soundcard for example creative.

So i disabled my soundcard and yes its working.. i can play et now.. but the only thing is how can i get sounds now? ;s

And you need buy usb soundcard (creative will be good)

I know.. But i dont get any sounds when i disable it.. is there no other way by just downloading something?

Also i think its wierd that everybody is talking about Realtek audio problems, but i dont even have Realtek right?


and should i disable the sounds in Games,videos (Besturing voor geluid, video en spelletjes) or at system devices (Systeemapparaten)?

no, only disable soundcard and yes your soundcard its same shit like realtek so if u wanna play et with PB you must buy usb soundcard ....is fucking cheap rly a few euros :)
This is only one working solution in your situation ...
punkbuster is shittable :(

So - disable your soundcard from motherboard - install new USB soundcard and use it - play et with pb & sounds ;)

so i downloaded some nvidia drivers and now i have 2 sounds in my device manager like this:

No. You got sound card - Realtek High Definition. Try update newest drivers [number R2.75] for it but i dont think that will works.

Nope doesnt work.. So just buy an usb soundcard and problem will be solved? does it matter what usb soundcard? In my town we have a computershop and it sells it for €10,- thats ok or?
