Tech question re external hard drive

I have a sea gate external hard drive however when I hook it up to my projector, or TV, it doesn't show the movies that are on it.

It has nothing to do with the file types, as they work fine on my gf's external hard drive.

Google isnt much help, so thats why I am asking here.

Any ideas at all?

Filesystem perhaps not supported.

Yeah check ntfs/fat32 or whatever those were, so that the projector is compatible with those. Also projector might only handle 8 bit digits or something so maybe having +255 files in a folder might screw things over.
