ET fps drop and lag

Hello my friends, i got problem while playing et. Everytime the round starts or dynamite is planted/defused or someone captured the flag etc, my game lags for like 1-2 sec and my ping goes to 400 and i cant move during that time. Have you guys got solution for that? I got windows 8.1
I was told to uninstall PB folder because it can cause lag but it did not help.

Yep i did. Normally i got 125 fps stable no matter what graphic/resolution i will set. It just goes like to 1fps for 1 sec or so then it goes back to normal.

I had the same issue, there were some sound files that were corrupt. Delete ET and all the folders, reinstall, enjoy lag free gaming. Or just try to figure out which sound files are corrupt, but easier is to delete the whole ET folder completely. Save your config and all stuff before you do that ;P

Sound files usually get fucked up only when you connect to some shit server that has its own bullshit menus,sounds, extra announcements etc etcetc

not 100% true. lags are annoying during casual wars. not only one server

edit.: or maybe u mean connecting once and after that u have a problem forever

But you downloaded them and they are in your ET, it isn't connected to the server.

That's why someone can get those ridiculous skins in DEMOs

Yeah, that's why it's very hard to know which downloaded sound files are causing the problem, deleting the whole ET folder and not joining random servers anymore will fix the problem for sure.

Reinstalled. It helped. I only get lag for 10 sec when round ends.
