First question, why the fuck would you use Windows 8.1
Better touchscreen support ":O)"
Parent
it's better than windows 7 and windows XP is not supported anymore.
Parent
Better than Win7 ok
Parent
yes. you are just hating on it for no reason tbh. curious if you even tried it, or thought about it, cuz majority of people seem to be either influenced by the general flow of "be like others, hate w8!" or repelled by metro screen, which can be pretty handy once you get used to it (w8>w8.1 in this regard tho)
Parent
Had 8 on my laptop, it updated itself to 8.1 I think and that thing is just meaningless and absolutely ridiculous to use as a PC or anything related to that.

If you have ntb or monitor with touchscreen then I think it may be nice to have but otherwise lulz
Parent
see? given no reason why W8 is worse than W7, just repeating it's worse without actually reasoning.
your windows might have had updated automatically, mine didn't. wanna know what the reason behind it most probably is? automatic updates, that's why. I don't have them. #poweruser
I've had XP and 8 on my pc and I have 7 on my ntb. XP > 8 > 8.1 > 7 in my case. there is nothing windows 7 does better than windows 8.
Parent
I'm using 8.1 now and I have no complaints to make about it. Talking about automatic updates, there is an option asking if you want to upgrade automatically or ask before and others.

i wouldn't say it's better .. it's based on 7 .. first win8 was a flop, how can win8.1 be so much better all of a sudden.
as we speak, win10 is in the making .. ..

so ill keep win7 and see what the new version will have.

i never said win7 is topnotch .. winxp was great.. win7 64bit .. is good aswell.
but i dont have any touchscreen shit and i don't like the GUI .. and can't do whatever i want to with the os,
so no go for me ..

as said .. i never said win7 is the best

in my opinion, windows 7 is pretty terrible. atleast compared to windows XP. so is windows 8. but if I get to compare windows 7 and 8, the latter is definitely a winner for me. honestly, I don't really see many differences between those two, but those I see speak in favor of 8 (for example booting speed or metro which I like). also, I think windows 8 was actually better than windows 8.1, atleast in UI.
I don't have a touchscreen either, but with use of windows key on your keyboard, little bit of customization and voilà, you have all the useful stuff just one click from you (sounds like from some ad, but I actually do feel that way)
and about W10, I don't really know much about it yet. kinda curious where windows 9 is tbh. they got some serious issues with numbers.
Parent
ye well. winxp was pretty stable and good at the end.

win7 is my first 64bit OS as winxp 64bit wasn't that .. well.
i haven't tried win8 yet .. dunno if i will .. i need a slim os, no fancy stuff.

win10 was the last news i've heard, win9 shud be somewhere .. i dont know what theyre up to.
Parent
I believe there is and won't be any windows 9.
well, windows 8 is almost the same as windows 7, basically the only performace difference I see is in much faster booting time for windows 8. with my ssd it loads close to instantly.
Parent
ever tried win7 on an ssd ?

btw, #kuraigu ..

easier to chat about this :) ..
Parent
lose the f word

had it on when i bought the laptop, didnt bother to change
Parent
no u cant cure
Logitech Gaming Software
This is what I use on my g500, works fine
Parent
Poor you for having that mouse though.
Parent
I had to fix it out of the box, sensor wasn't stuck in securely. What would you say is wrong with it other than that though? Seems ok
Parent
The sensor has acceleration.
Parent
tried and it didnt work, mouse did not turn on anymore , until i turned it back to default same way that tutorial said.
Parent
Be sure to check that dseo really works. If there's a right-bottom test-mode watermark on your screen, then you can install all that stuff, but without it - it's useless.
What is also worth mentioning, you can only fix USB 2.0 with this, if your computer has 3.0 sockets, then it's a no-can-do.
Parent
Changing USB sample rates on laptop is a no go, can't do it. USB port becomes non-responsive every time. Tried myself.
I overclocked my laptop usbs, your argument is invalid.
Parent
Well, might just be that I failed at it miserably. :D it didn't work for me for some reason :). Glad if it worked for you.
