ET on MacBook Pro (Yosemite 10.10)

So blablabla after a long time I want to play this game again, is it possible on a macbook? If so, how? Downloaded the splashdamage OSX link, but it immediately crashes upon starting.

Help is much appreciated :)

yeah, installed this now. does mean that ETpro/competative ET will not work out right? do you have experience with playing through etlegacy? since mine seems to crash quite often.
