NEW PC help

Sup guys!

So unlikely the guy below me, my PC is not ready yet.
Normally I would write "I know there's a shitload of journals about it", but since crossfire is dead, I haven't found any "new pc" topics in last two months. So I thought l'll create one

That's the parts Im probably gonna choose for my new PC, check them out:

CPU: intel i5-4690 3,5ghz
HDD: seagate 1TB 64mb
SSD: crucial bx100 120GB
MOBA: gigabyte GA-B85M-D3H
GPU: MSI geforce GTX960 gaming 2GB
RAM: crucial ballistix 8GB (2x4GB) 1600 CL9
power supply: thermactake smart se 530W
case: random cooler master or smth

So overally the cost of this stuff will be around 770 euros here in PL

What do u guys think, is it ok? Would u change anything? I dont rly want to waste more money on it, still should be enough to run games like GTA V or new Witcher on ultra (thats the goal) and handle newest games for the next 4-5 years.
Thanks in advance ;)

high5 and #q2nf.et for life!

Get the 970, it's worth it
Well it costs 150 euros more, is it so much different and better to be worth it?:P

I thought about getting the 960, but decided I wanted to not cut back on my gfx and got the 970 4GB one, which is awesome. I can't really compare as I haven't used the other card, but the benchmarks are definitely better
Parent
damn, now u made me think about it :D

will the other specs be enough for that card anyway? what's ur specs?

You won't be able to play Witcher 3 on ultra with GTX960 - I have i5-4590 and GTX960, most things on medium, some on low and some things turned off (nvidia hairworks is real GTX960 killer). The game itself runs fine but it's not smooth, most of the time I can feel slight stuttering, sometimes it's more than just that. What's interesting is that GeForce Experience seems to suggest much higher settings than I have right now, so one would think that the game would run smoothly with lower settings. All in all - GTX960 is enough to run Witcher 3, but not on ultra.
yeah, you guys made me confused a little:P
but looks like im gonna spend 150 euros more more on gtx970...
Havent planned on spending around 400 euros on GPU only, but im thinking about future and it seems I should invest a little more to be sure Im secured for a longer period of time :P no point in buying new PC which cant handle already existing games @ highest details
Parent
What resolution are you playing at.. higher than 1080p you will start crying with 960 if you intend to have a playable experience with demanding games on highest settings. Even one 970 will let you down since you said 4-5 years, of course its easy to switch a newer gpu later on
Parent
Well atm I have 22" Samsung, so 1680x1050 is maximum for me, at least for now :P maybe I'll switch to smth bigger later on, but Im not a guy who rly needs uber-super gear with 3 SLI 8GB cards, 64 GB ram and 40" screen ;P I just want to see how it rly looks @ ultra and make an investment for the next couple of years
Parent
Why not look for a 3,2ghz processor then? Saves you some extra money and still runs like a train.
Parent
u mean i5-4590 or even i5-4460? i was thinking about it (although the difference between those is not impressive, only around 40 euros, still something), but im wondering would it be enough for that GPU?
Parent
yo mate, just wanted to say i've ordered my new pc today and I've decided to give gtx970 a try :P I hope it'll be worth it :D I also got i5-4690 there, so I hope it will run like a monster:P it took 900 euros overally, so not as bad as i thought. Will be ready tomorrow, cant wait:P ill write my thoughts after first tryout
Parent
You won't regret it, trust me. I have the same GFX and processor, and I can play GTA V on highest specs. It's a beast. Here are my full specs, I spent a little over €1000.

Are you going to build it yourself?
Parent
Already got it:P nah, the shop that i've ordered in built it for me.
The worst part is - my monitor is like 6-7 years old (22" samsung) and it has VGA cable :P this card has some new plug, that i havent seen before... I have to buy extention tomorrow, so now i cant even try it... fuck my life :D
Parent
It has HDMI and DVI-D as far as I know
Parent
yeah it's DVI-D, but the switch was in the box XD too bad I've realised that next morning haha :D now i cant wait to come back from work :D
Parent
ok its alive!:D the witcher 3 works perfect @ ultra :P
i love it, that was a good choice, thx for the advice. too bad im leaving home for 3 days now, gonna play it sunday
Parent
All good man, glad you're enjoying yourself :)
Parent
I would take a bigger SSD, you will regret it if you don't. Furthermore I prefer the ASRock B85M Pro4 because of the Intel NIC.
Well I think Im gonna use it only for system, browsing and latest downloads, just for fast work. I'll buy 1TB HDD and I've got my old 750GB HDD aswell, so I guess it'll be enough

Albo coś pomiędzy 960 i 970 czyli radeon r9 280x / r9 290, oba wypadają podobnie do gtxów w stosunku cena/wydajność

look at some overall gpu benchmark and value for money graphs. dont look at performance in single game. you will see a big jump in performance from x60 and below to x70 and up. i made the mistake a while ago to buy a 660ti, which is a little better than any cheap jump card but not a big jump in performance. If you spending half the cost of a x70 and only getting say extra 5fps, then was the purchase good?
btw turn off threaded optimizations for single thread games. unless you want additional lag for free, do not install nvidia 3d vision, experience, shield and audio driver, unless u actually need them, i.e. install driver in custom mode.
