What headset should I buy?

My old Siberia V2 mic has been showing signs of dying for quite some time and now it is hardly working. Any tips on which headset should I buy next? Thanks!

Don't buy a gaming headset. I strongly advice buying good quality headphones and a separate microphone. Sound quality, unless you pay a lot of money for gaming headsets, is a lot better when you go with good music headphones! If, however, you do want to buy a gaming headset, I have heard the Kingston HyperX Cloud (The 2nd version has virtual surround sound) is one of the better ones for not too much money.

E: Also, I like how everyone's saying Sennheiser yet no one's giving a model. Yes, Sennheiser has some good headphones, but they have some terrible ones as well. Plus the sound quality isn't THAT good (the pricing is great, though, and their build quality is pretty solid), it's just "okay" for mainstream use.
which headphones u recommand ? but not wireless please

Depends on how much you want to spend. I'm a big fan of the following:
- Audio-Technica ATH-M50X
- Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro
- AKG K 550

But those are rather pricey.

+1 to headphones, Philips Fidelio x2 here love them!

How I wish the Fidelio M1MKII were over ear :(

ok thanks - but i have another question -- what is the diffence between 80 ohm and 250 ohm i found this headphones with different ohm s -- which one is better ?

another siberia v2 :S
Got Siberia V3 but kinda agree with wra1th. I'm thinking about going for a real good Sennheiser or something like that instead for sound.
anything sennheiser
I'm a faggot so I'd buy either Siberia V3 or the Elite
but if I used a bit of brain instead of my dick I'd go for the HyperX as wrath mentioned or Sennheiser - which you should actually purchase if you also enjoy some sound quality :s
Kingston HyperX Cloud or qpad version
Wouldn't get the QPAD version, more expensive yet it has no upsides to the Kingston version.

There are just few models in each class which overpover hundreds of headphones and headsets around their prize. Just find a decent list of these overkillers and choose something that fits ur preferences. Dont forget about soundcard/dac, better headphones usually need a better sound source.
Don't buy anything in Suomi :x
Sennheiser with external mic.
I recently bought G430 and Im pretty much happy with em
I recommend separate headphones and mic, so that you don't have this issue again.

You can get Sennheiser HD 201. for like €20-25 and a desktop mic for probably around €5-10. More expensive headphones maybe the Sennheiser HD 439, looks like a follow on from the 595 series, seems to be around €60

Or get some good quality in ears, been using them a lot recently, helps a lot @ summer too rather than these arctic ear muffs ;)
+1 for senheiser hd 201 got it for years now very cheap and very decent for its price

dont listen to these fags

u are a gamer, act like one

i have the logitech G930 which is awesome, but since i have lots of money and no girlfriend, i also bought the sensei wireless (i have the G700s) and gonna buy H wireless headset once it will be in stock @ amazon
> acts like gamer
> buys wireless mouse
Parent
u can still have it on wire mode lol stupid panda whalesh

besides, there is something like 10-15ms difference between wire and not-wire
Parent
> buys wireless mouse
> uses wired mode
Parent
only said what u can do...

having wireless mouse have its usefulness, and if u cant see it then u are a eurofag.

having the possibility to wire it for gaming is also a great feature for those who wants to enjoy BOTH worlds u retards.
Parent
well, if low class sensors like in 5 or 6x lower prized wired mice are fine for u, then go for wireless mouse!
Parent
Strikingly similar reason as to why people buy separate headphones and mics.
Parent
buying wireless -> enjoy both worlds
buying wired -> enjoy one world

got it eurofag?
Parent
I've never seen somebody get so worked up over cords. My life isn't burdened by a web of wires and pita crumbs like a true "gamer", so I can buy higher quality audio equipment without having to make any sacrifices to cut the cord. Enjoy your incredibly mediocre sound stage.
Parent
you are just poor, admit it!

haha best comments i have read for a while here xdddddd

Gaming headsets are fucking crap, can't believe people actually recommend these ROFL

AKG
Beyerdynamic

way to go
qpad or sennheiser
Qpad QH-90 / Kingston HyperX Cloud II or for moar mani Sennheiser G4ME Zero
Samson SR850 are cheap and great. they use same drivers (speakers) as another expensive audiophile brand. they're comfortable and have a ling lead. most gaming headsets are atrocious quality, break easily, produce mediocre sound and introduce lag by having additional processing/usb.
For positional audio in gaming you want no additional base and they should be open style headphone. yes open headphones leak sound to annoy others, but give you precise positioning cues. closed headphones (for music) make all the sounds feel like positioned in middle of ypur head.
let's be honest...

who doesn't just simply want a proper headset instead of headphones + an additional microphone?

sennheiser pc320 if you're going for low budget, pc360 if you're going for high budget and have a sound card
lets be honest..i don't want a headset with mic. if i ever had the need for a mic, i'd use the beamforming mic on my zxr. this is tongue-in-cheek btw. I'm not sure they were asking for a headphone with mic or not.
