I'm glad you're happy with it and I guess it doesn't really matter as much when you haven't bought a computer in a while, but 1200 quid is still a lot of money for a decent setup. Plenty of people here who would've helped you getting the same value for less money.
It will last me a long time haha.

Was about to comment the same. This setup wouldve cost less than 900 quid to buy in norway.

No no i have had to buy a monitor keyboard mouse memory hdd headset its all cost 1200 mate i had to start from scratch
Parent
Ah! Then it makes a bit more sense the price you paid! Pfew, what kind of monitor did you buy? A fancy 144hz? (I want one :D)

24" iiyama ProLite GE2488HS-B1 Gaming Monitor 1920x1080, 1ms, 250cd/m², Speakers, D-Sub/DVI/HDMI, Black

I see a lot of these on scan.co.uk marked up as gaming monitors but being 60-75hz, think yours is 75. If you can get your hands on a 120hz it will be quite noticeable difference - would actually say such a set up is wasted with that sort of monitor if you plan to play any fast past game (meaning any FPS)

hey mate i took it back and got a 27 inch iyama from scan thats where i got my rig from mate its 144hz too im happy :)

Corsair Gaming CG M65 RGB Gaming Mouse 8200dpi Black Multiple Colours Programmable....... This is the mouse i got and ive not seen dpi that high before. I wasnt sure what the best mice are these days?
Parent

Intel Core i7 3.6ghz = 5+ different CPUs.

Im still on my 4 year old i5 2500k. No reason to change yet really. AMD should wake up and release something that can compete against Intel. Only then will this incremental bullshit stop.
I was gonna get the i5 but i thought what the hell just get the nextone up n keep me going for a few exfra years
Parent
highest i5k is definitly better than medium i7 around the same prize, especially since "k" version overclockable, u can easly put it to +30% and get parameters of 1.5x higher prized i7. Sorry for dissapoint :/
Parent
2500k ftw, rolling

2500k ftw, rolling

should have bought Radeon R9 380 (nitro) instead of 960, same price but like 5-10 % faster :)
