You probably don't need the i7. What ever this generation's equivalent of the i5 would have identical performance for gaming, unless you're doing animation or some shit.

you won't lose much on performance in games if you choose i5 over i7 but you'll save a fairly big amount of money which you can invest in some cooling for example, depending on what you have now
