LAN Schedule + My Casting Schedule

So, the LAN Schedule has been published.
Yea, sadly not.
This is the schedule I put together after I was asked to help out: ET United Schedule (there are 3 pages, schedule + brackets etc. and this is the finalised version)
timbolina originally posted that yesterday and had a few replies, non upset at what was proposed, however it has been a bit of an ego battle and Sebhes seemed determined for this schedule to not be used, for reasons I am not totally sure with. But hey, here is why I proposed certain things.
Reasoning for schedule timings etc.
Day1: Guaranteed 6 Bo3 games with groups + playoffs/consolation. This is a lot of games to guarantee, CF LANs only ever managed 3 as a minimum, sometime 4 if they did a consolation bracket.
I also made it Single Elimination as this increased quite a lot of suspense particularly for the Grand Final. It also allowed the tournament to finish at a reasonable time for everyone - Admins, players and myself.
Not to offend but teams like visual and ducks will most likely make it to the end stages of the 3on3 tournament, both of which have to set up at the LAN centre at 9am the next morning - this schedule would accommodate a decent rest period + hopefully ensure a higher quality group stage for all teams (6on6, in the end, is the priority tournament)
Streaming for nearly 17 hours at Reborn LAN for the 3on3 tournament actually destroyed me, mainly due to the ~5hours sleep I got before the next days 14+hour stream. This schedule for the 3on3 as I linked above would really help this, I would get at least 8hours which is far more lovely ;~)
Outcome: Unfortunately this is not the schedule that was used, the groupstage was made Bo2 and the playoffs Double elimination. I talked timbolina, he seemed to be in agreement with me about the timescale of the first day and not to have it being too taxing on everyone (more good quality tournament + fun + relaxed).
Sadly Sebhes informed me that he talked to all teams in the tournament and that they preferred Double Elimination, which if the is nice that everyone has a tournament they want however for me personally it raised a bit of a dilemma - do I wreck myself in the 3on3 tournament again before the main tournament? (ie 6on6)
I've decided that I cannot cast the current schedule. Anyone who knows my casting preferences probably realises I don't like casting half of tournaments or only the beginning - and as the end of the tournament is the main issue (IE, low guarantee on an early finish) I will not be casting the 3on3 tournament.
Day 2: 6on6 Day1, is generally the easiest of days to organise. You utilise all PCs at your disposal and get groupstage games played as fast as possible. 30PCs, 10 teams = 2x Groups of 5 with 5 rounds of games. The groupstage could all be Bo3 and played out in one single day giving all teams a minimum of 4 games in the groupstage. There would even be some time at the end of the day to have a consolation tournament with the teams eliminated in the groupstage (bottom of each group). You currently see a playoff round marked "LBR1" I will get to that in Day3 explanation so it's clearer.
Day 3: 6on6 Day2 is generally all playoffs be it Double Elim or Single Elim. I proposed a full 6on6 Double Elination tournament however after talking with timbolina he informed me of some issues that may arise with local transport and that if the Grand Final could be completed by closer to 5/6PM CET it would be ideal.
The biggest issue with an 8 team Double Elimination bracket is that in general only 4 teams can play at the same time unless PCs are in a huge abundance (would need nearly 50) I was told the most I could hope for on Sunday was 36. So to eliminate a lot of time, the Upper Bracket quarter finals were removed and the top two of the groups went into the semis and 3rd/4th in each group would move into the Lower Bracket (you can see this in more detail on the 6on6 tab down the bottom on google docs) - the first round of which is called LBR1 and played Saturday night to allow the user to take part in the consolation games if they wished.
Sundays schedule looks a bit strange, but it allows for every game after the semis to get casted (and watched by people at the event + online, a huge bonus) and also keeps with the double elimination style of tournament.
Outcome: Again, Unfortunately, this was not the schedule that was used. For the last day of a tournament, I can cast for as long as needed (I don't need to be awake the next day at a certain time to cast something so...) however this could impact LAN participants on travel and such - I talked with some people, some players have upto 7hour car travel Sunday AFTER games, if they were to get to the Grand Final - this is just really inconsiderate imo, and just a real world thing of generally being unsafe.
So the outcome for me casting:
Rough Casting Schedule
EU Times
Saturday: 09:30AM CET - 9:30PM CET, Group A & B
Sunday: 09:30AM CET - LATE, Double Elimination Playoffs
NA Times
Saturday: 03:30AM EST - 3:30PM EST, Group A & B
Sunday: 03:30AM EST - 07:00PM EST Approx, Double Elimination Playoffs

i still like what u do and can understand you but well its not too cool to make others sad and let the community alone on friday because of internal problems..
cheers mate
no internal issues, I made it quite clear. I cannot cast late on Friday because it takes be 1-2 hours after a cast to chill out to even be able to sleep - which last LAN left me with 4-5hours sleep :D I said at the time I cannot and will not do that again. The finalised schedule needed to accommodate this, it does not - nothing I can do, it is out of my hands.
It's a matter of when the last game ends also, not when I start. If I cast 10 games or just 1, the same outcome happens ;)
cheers
cut it out or get banned again
Everyone will love it even if you only stream the 3s playoffs. You speak of this principal that you either stream all or nothing, but this whole lan can be seen as one thing, and you are deciding to neglect half of it?
You say there was ego at play regarding the schedules, please don't fall into the same trap yourself.
I've worked on getting a stream for the 3on3 tournament in place though, and I will help out if needed and when I can. I will try and work something out as much as possible but well, I just dont want to make the same mistake again. Quality > Quantity is what I am personally going for - but hopefully something happens anyway.
Your post was appreciated though, my heart tho and the tears are real. :'(
