Well for me, the cable goes down the back of the desk and over years it has ruined the cable cover thingy so I think these can be useful for multiple reasons.

Is this actually necessary? I'm no pro gamer, but come on... this seems to be a waste of money.
Above all, if you really need it, make something yourself? Can't be that hard to lift your cable up?

used to tape it with shit, but nowadays i just lay on the table

dont really see the big need of taping and those bungees, just make sure there aint anything on the way to block the cable
