There is your problem
probably depends which intel hd graphics you got
you can reach 120 or 144hz only with a dual-d dvi cable
or DisplayPort

as bobika said, it's the HDMI problem.
if the problem persist even after you switch to more propriate connector, try if your r_swapinterval is not set to 1

You need either dual link DVI or DisplayPort (regular/mini). Most laptops dont come with DVI-D connectivity so unless you have a Mini DP/DP output, you're fucked.
hey m8, i was afk and read your message too late since you went offline. here is the relaxation music that you requested:

"Running 1080p content at 144Hz can be a very demanding task. Contrary to popular belief, a standard HDMI 1.2 cable can not be used to output 144Hz 1080p content on a monitor. HDMI versions up to 1.2 support the same data throughput as single link DVI-D. A HDMI to DVI or DVI to HDMI adapter is converting to or from single link DVI-D, as the video signal for these two is identical and it is just the adapter that is required (HDMI can carry audio, but this is lost with an adapter).
This is sufficient for 1080p at 60Hz.

To output 1080p at 120Hz or 144Hz, you need a dual link DVI-D or DisplayPort cable and connect those to your monitor and computer. These standards include support for higher resolutions and refresh rates. HDMI 1.3 or higher can also be used to output 1080p content at 144Hz."
tnx all for help i will buy hdmi 1.4 tomorow ..i think the hdmi that come with the monitor is 1.2 or lower
It's not about the cable, it's about the version of the port inside your laptop.

Laptop intel gpu probably gonna limit it anyway. so tough luck. Should have done more research.

lol fuckiong idiot play with 60hz be different this 144 for fags :D 60hz for real men
Playing with 120hz or 144hz really makes a difference. Games are smoother and it protects your eyesight. If you ever try it you will notice the difference. I thought like you before until i tried it. Now i can't play on 60hz. :p
Parent
I see you are noob player if you believe hz makes difference, its your skill that makes difference, not hz. Also its useless to use over 24fps because your eye won't notice any difference if its 24fps or 200fps...get educated plz.
Parent
Thanks for covering me up. The only thing 144hz can do is give more motivation, it feels better but got nothing to do with anything skill related issues.

i see flying boobs of noobs hehe lol rimmas

The human eye can not see ONLY 24 FPS !!! The human eye begins to capture the image as the smooth of 24 frames per second. This diametrical difference Mr BossHK & Caej.
Parent
WTF BUT MY LIFE IS SO LAGGY NOT SMOOTH 8D I THOUGHT MY EYES ARE LIMITED 24 FPS IRL

cu lan bronco

24 fps is only the min framerate eyes see many pictures as a single move.
But eyes does not work with a "rate" you only need to reach and thats it. Eyes does work interrupt based, means they react to changes => more changes ore reactions
you can download video-files with a single light flash at 120 hz and you will see that. if the eye would cant see more than 30fps 60hz you should not see that....

you will not play better, but its more comfortable
Parent
Don't catch my troll net plz. :-) Ofc its smoother if you play with 200fps vs 24fps, eyes are not cameras. Just decided to troll him since he obviously grabbed caej's troll post as 0 day CSGO casual player & esport enthustiast :--)
Parent
Caej is right. Human eye can only see 23fps

How Can Mirrors Be Real If Our Eyes Aren't Real
Parent
Yes caej is right.
For him com_maxfps 23 but for me 144 :D
I tested in caej factory and my eyes saw 144fps so Benq XL2430T is good for me :D
