Your current microphone?

I've been using the Sweex HM002B for 6 years or something like that, it cost me £5 and has never been anything to brag about in terms of quality and I broke it in half a few years ago so it's been held together by some trusty tape.

now that I want to replace it, what are you using and would you recommend your own or another mic?

ps. do not want headset with mic. :S

I use Apple earphones instead of a headset these days, so doubt I'll be using a modmic unless I attach it to my cheek :D

do you use the Blue mic?

You mean you use EarPods? Are you a masochist? I don't own it, but I have been considering picking it up for awhile.

buying razer kraken is mean, it hurts people's taste.
Parent
ive got this headset for 3-4 years already :(
Parent
1) it's one of the most uncomfortable headset i ever tried on
2) it has one of the worst price/quality ratio (heavy, pretty low quality transducers, crap calibration etc)
3) it's razer...
30$ superlux hd668b offers better positioning and overall sound quality

but your head is fucking misshaped #rektbiatch
Parent
rather discomfort for ears...
anyway, i dont feel like continue it with such a rude person, that insults you instead of arguing.

Especially when he's so stupid that he buys razer products, #rektsobadly

Philips Fidelio X2 are quite awesome, keep getting "wh'' comments on public since I got them. Pretty expensive, but in it's price range really good. I had Sennheiser HD555 before, but this is so much better.
Parent
used to play with mic from broken headset

have a Blue Snowball I previously used lying about if you need it ;)
If you only need it for teamspeak it's not worth spending more than £20 for a standalone mic tbh
i use my dick to communicate through the internet.
Makes sense, could explain why we call it a

MICRO

senheiser PC 151
Hi Artstar,
I would re-consider to choose headset for gaming as it is the best option in my opinion.
For many years I were using Sennheiser PC 151 (around 55 euro now):

I was very happy about the quality of the sound and microphone. After I accidently broke the headset i decided to buy new.
Currently I am a happy user of Sennheiser PC 363D, they are quite expensive (around 249,00 euro) but I think worth the price:

The cool option about this headset is the external hardware sound card with the "3D G4me1 Engaged" function, by simply switch the pilot - to activate it, You can select between 2, 4, 5.1, 7.1 Channel Surround, in software application run in tray. The simplicity of the driver is exactly how it should look like:

As I believe, Sennheiser serve the best sound quality hardware products and they are leader on the market, and I would never buy any different sound products from any other company.
Cheers.
Good headphone > headset if you want quality, get a headphone. I have tried the sennheiser PC350D or something, but it was not that good comparing it to the Sennheiser HD555/558. And those integrated soundcards :(

Sennheiser is good, but in that price range you can do better than that. If you want a good headset with good performance/price ratio the HyperX Coud2 are quite good, but for 250 euro's you can do a lot better.

I've already got the Sennheiser HD 439, I don't use it but I just decided personally I cba with headsets a couple of years ago :\ it's always good that I have the option to use it, but it would still require an external microphone as it doesn't have one attached.
Parent
if you got a webcam you can use the already installed mic in it. using it for 8 years already although i never used the webcam itself. bought it back when skype was held to be cool
