RTCW: Lag/stutter after every shot when facing enemy

Hoi mateys!

Any clues how to fix stutter/lag spike whenever you shoot someone from close distance? If you shoot from far away, it doesn't feel that noticeable, but when going close quarters, it's making you freeze for some time whenever you or opponent shoots at you.

Any ideas?
