60 fps cap in ET? Why?

I got maxfps at 125 in my config and ingame it shows them also at 125,
but when i activate my monitor fps overlay it says its only 60.

I think my PC doesnt recognize ET as a game and uses 60 fps like when working with windows.
Cuz even the Radeon software doesnt display the FPS in ET while it does in all other games.
Any idea what i can do?

turn off vsync (assuming you are playing with 60hz).

You probably have nvidia graphics card and you probably have vsync on in nvidia settings. Turn that off there and you're golden.

I got a radeon and nope, in settings there i have vsync off.

I recovered my account only to comment your journal.
I just had the same problem yesterday. I updated nvidia drivers and now I have stable 125 fps. Thought that it wouldn't help because I updated them a short while ago on Windows, but hadn't done the same work on Ubuntu which I've been used primarily.

ET as smooth on windows as on ubuntu? I'm thinking of installing RTCW on my 18.4 boot

ET runs a lot smoother on my laptop when using Ubuntu, but can't say that this is a general case. I can't even dare to boot up Windows due to all the update hassle and programs crashing.
If you install RTCW check that you're able to get the sounds working properly. It demanded some extra work with ET.

might try it then :-) although im afraid to install the nvidia gpu drivers on my ubuntu. Last time i tried, i hard bricked my laptop :(

i always keep my gpu drivers up to date.
I got a Radeon btw. and newest driver is installed. thx anyway.
