W:ET Remaster rumors

Not sure if aware/shared here, couldn't really be bothered to attempt using search function on here :P

ID Software has been (re)registering Enemy Territory Trademarks and Rights all over the world. Above link is a registered one for the UK as of 13th March 2020, but also for South American countries, EU/EM, South Korea and loads f other individual countries. Registrations include games but also TV/Movie rights and loads of merchandising rights.

There is/was also a rumor a while back that Bethesda was announcing something Enemy Territory related this years E3:

Thoughts? Pretty sure that after "the spiritual successor" called DB and Brink, yikers, most of us would be pretty hesistant to believe in a worthy successor/remaster :D

Definitly good news. If it's bad we still got ET, if it's good we can potentially have it really reborn.
Considering that battle royale games were leading for many years people might find it refreshing.

After playing for the first time since 8 years, I feel like this game is still awesome and really doesn't need much remastering. Maybe a better UI and a matchmaking feature. Guess I will keep playing while the world is in shutdown!

Remaster = Just HD graphics. _Maybe_ some minor bug fixes. How that would do good for ET? Simply nothing, just waste of time.

You can still try Enemy Territory: Legacy, which is a community continuation of ET. Pretty cool, two public servers (Team Muppet) on legacy mod (trying to mirror etpro) are very active + we sometimes play scrims.

The ET:Legacy project is amazing. Really good work from dedicated fans. I feel that there’s been some changes to either the net code or the hit boxes, it just seems weird when playing. When switching from ET:L to ET for ETPro everything just seems different.

Anyway, to repeat what I’ve said, it’s amazing what fans have done out of pure love for the game.
