The last few weeks, we have seen one clan after the other folding. Last one was uQ. They are all stepping down, splitting up, or mooving to other games.
Where do this lead us?
I think now is the time, more important then even before, to think of all the other clans, thats still out there.. clans that has been there for a long time, clans that has only been here for a few months, and clans that only recently saw the daylight..
I know we will miss the topclans as uQ, 141, IDKFA etc.. but dont forget that there is still alot of good players and good clans, that can give the scene several nice matches to watch..
Offcorse, it will be people saying that now the scene is dead, now there wount be any ETTV, no tosspot shouting like he just had an orgasme, and no more Eurocup.. Now we just have to wait for RTCW2, or what the name will be, or moove on to any other game we find amusing..
If u are one of those, sure, move on, but I dont think thats the right way to go.
Still, there is plenty of clans out there, just look at #6on6.et how many clans are searching games? look at Open cup, How many clans participated this season?
Im not sure what thoughts clanbase has done about an eventually new season, maybe they give the Open Cup a new season, but state that they had theire last EC for Enemy Territory.
I think its wrong to focus on what teams that has been here, but that we should rather focus on what teams thats still playing. The majority of the scene is still here, and a Eurocup should be of the best teams in the scene, instead of thinking that those teams are worse then what was earlier. For the teams participating, I am sure that a spot in next seasons Eurocup is something all the clans that has only been second best earlier, now would do anything to get, and that it would still be exciting, it would still be good and fun matches to watch on ETTV, and it would still be a big interest in it. But if we dont get a new cup, just because the "old top clans isnt there anymore", then imo, the hole spirit of Eurocup is missinterpreted, and that we have to think twice..
Now Nations cup qualifiers has started, and soon we have the group phase, where I offcorse hope Norway will be..(just need to beat those ausies on sunday=), and when Nations Cup is done, I think there is important that a new major cup has to be on the mind of our dear clanbase admins.. for the teams thats still in the scene, keeping it alive.. cause there is plenty of those..
well, ive atleast stated abit of what im thinking about this subject.. i could go on for ever, but i know that in the mind of some of u that reads this, I allready have written forever, so Ill stop now...
All i want is that the spirit of competition will keep on, and that its now time to focus on all those teams thats still left in the scene, instead of those few teams that has left....
