IRC Match Coverage.

Basically, ive come across an IRC bot, that, when im connected to a server as Player/Spectator - It gives live coverage of the game your playing in an IRC channel. Like for example a 6v6. I know of clans that have used this before if the other team doesnt want spectators, then the rest of the team can see what is happening in the match on thier IRC Channel, and was wondering what people think of this being used on a larger scale.
Obviously i can understand that ETTV cannot be rivaled, however,
•What if the cup/match isnt covered on ETTV, but you still want to see your team and how thay are doing in the match?
•What if you dont want to watch the match, just want to watch the match whilst doing other things on your PC?
Would being able to simply connect to an IRC channel with live commentary of the match interest you? So you can keep track of the game whilst doing something else, or if the match isnt covered by ETTV?
