flatscreen & resolution

i have a flatscreen, ( r mode 8 ) i get like 150 fps in et with this, 70 in radar & some places in ice

if i use mode 6 now i get constant 76 in those 2 maps, but can this 'wrong' resolution cause damage to my screen?
