Weird movie colors

Yeah, that's right. I'm sitting on my mom's comp since my own one broke down on me a couple of months ago. It's actually quite playable and can handle even WoW! So I'm happy.
Apart from this one detail. When I try to play movies the colors get all weird. The picture goes really bright and the colors are all messed up. For example, if I try to view a WoW-movie with grass on the ground, the grass is white with blue spots in it. Or something. Weird anyhow.
I've tried several players, like Windows Media Player, VLC and Windows Media Player Classic, and it's the same on all players. However, when I view videos on for instance google video, the picture is fine.
What to do?
