My dear journal,
The time has come :) the yearly event of the ITSA Lan party has come again. This small lan party organised by the IT students @ University is a yearly event, no competition but just fun!
This year I have a harder job :( The server will be my responsability :| What shall I do and what shall I not do?
Another bad news is that the server is Windows :| lalalalal .. well that's hw it is.
I will be using this DHCP Server : http://www.magikinfo.com/dhcp.htm
DNS Server : I'm not sure if I need to have one or not and if I should have one what you think is the best?
Firewall : Is it really needed on the network? Shall I put more pressure on the CPU of the gameserver with more Firewall processes?
Antivirus : Is there any good antivirus which scans the whole network? :S It needs to be free :| or else I have to forget it
Any ideas which might help me secure the environment are appreciated.
