This is a simple python script that lets you execute a replay via your filemanager from any location: http://rev2.teamoxid.de/download/demoplay
Just put that into /usr/local/bin and make it executable, then associate your demos with the script in your filemanager.
I find this useful for example to download some demos to my desktop, play them by doubleclicking and then move them to the trash without cluttering my demo folder. You could also organise your demos in subfolders (and still be able to play them easily) or simply use your filemanager to sort your demos, since the sorting of the ingame demo viewer sucks for me.
The script works by putting a symlink to the demo into the demo folder called "latest_replay", which does not get deleted afterwards.
