which did you read and enjoy?
should be less than 300 pages since I have to give a speech about it on monday. there's also a couple of books which are allready been taken by other guys in class so just give a lot proposals.
the author HAS to be british.

Edit: A book with more adult approach than harry potter.
Edit2: Some kind of novel. I'm having specialized english course so the book and it's content does not really matter.
