I like my desktop (icons, taskbar etc) small, so i run a resolution of 1600x1200 on a CRT. This makes it look very nice. However, it limits me to 70Hz refreshrate.
Now obviously I want to go up to 100Hz refresh, but the nearest possible safe resolution to do this in is 1024*768, which makes my desktop stupidly big. So the question is:
1) Can I make my desktop icons smaller without upping resolution?
2) Is there any way to just use 1024*768 + 100Hz when playing ET, or does r_mode 4 do exactly the same thing? If so is there some sort of .bat file available to automatically switch Hz settings apart from obvious things like Refreshlock?
