Problem with ET

Well a friend of mind Malmen has just installed ET (Coming from RtCW), he had installed both patches the new etpro but when he tries to connect to a server it just sticks on awaiting challenge I told him to check the console for errors, but, there don't appear to be any.. Any help of this would be really good, thanks.
