Quakecon Journal, Part I

4:15 cet, Potter alias Mike is sleeping since hours. The bags are finally packed but as always i am sure i forgot something - well, i will check it in 3 hours again, when i wake up. Actually its just one bag anyway - damn, i really forgot some things i am afraid.
However, our plane will leave at 11:20 CET. After about 10 hours we will arrive in Toronto, where we will stay for 4 hours until our next flight will bring us to Dallas, just another 4 hours away. At about 21:30 local time we will meet the others at the hotel, the "Dallas Quality Inn".
The past two weeks were full of practice. We improved a lot but as a natrual fact there is still enough that we could do better - but in the end its just the result during the tournament that counts.
Its sad that we dont have an oponent for the bootcamp-day we planned - maybe Tosspot will get us someone as he were getting all the other stuff done.. amazing if you think about it.

Quakecon 2006.. the first time i tried to attend such an event with a team is like 4 years ago - and like in the following years we weren't successful eventhough all the teams we played in would have been strong enough to win this tournament. This year there's the chance, the team consists of 5 expierenced players. During the last weeks i was able to see that all of them can do "big games".

For all of you who will "cross their fingers" for us - we will give every oponent there a hell of a fight to get as much prize-money as possible for the upcoming crossfire-lans, you can trust in that. For all others - i hope you enjoy the games at least and don't be dissapointed if we perform pretty good.
Some of us will not just play for ourselves but also for the guys who made this possible and for all these who are following the tournament and especially for the guys who were trying to get there since ages without success. Don't give up, maybe you will be as lucky as we are now.

I want to add smth personal at the end of the first part of my little quakecon-journal.. I know that many of you are unlucky with parts of the team that will play for crossfire at quakecon - and i also am aware of the fact that i am one of the issues. Anyway, what i want you to know is that i can understand you - still i am very happy that i can attend this tournament, finally.. and god knows, we will try to bring you the gold, no matter what.

Greets to all the guys and girls that are with us, we will give you a show you won't forget ;)

End of part one, thanks for reading and have a nice day.

Something else that i need to add and the reason why i will edit this journal - its unbelievable, in nearly 10 years of onlinegaming i never saw a community spending money for a team that can attend an event like quakecon. I doubt that this happened before. Respect to all the guys out there who gave something of their own.
P.s. : God, i hope we will wake up in time for the flight...
