Possible mouse problem?

Well, recently my aim has been way off standard, and it seems to be because of a different "feel" of my mouse.

Now, i really don't know why or how this could have happened, which is why i was kinda hoping one or two of you guys here might, and possibly know what problem i currently have.

Well, i use 400DPI, windows sensitivity on notch 7, and in-game sensitivity 1.5, which has been that way for months and remained unchanged. However the mouse "feel", has change dramatically, and is very hard to explain what the exact problem is.

It feels faster, but it is one of those "faster" problems, which i cannot exactly put my finger on whether it is the mousepad, (Titan Everglide Monstermat) which has slightly worn away and gives a different surface texture results in a different "feel", or whether it has something to do with my mouse and the mouse's settings itself.

I may just be paranoid here also, but my mouse seems to "jump", or move unsmoothly across my desktop, could this perhaps also be a reason why it has given me a "change of feel"? Is there anything that could have been altered in my settings to make the cursor "jump" and result in me not being able to aim whilst playing ET?

I also thought about another possibility, the feet on my mouse, (MX518) have yet again worn away? I currently use Logitech replacement feet because of the original feet having been worn down, and wonder if the same could be said with my replacement feet, however they still look the same.

If there is anyone who knows what the problem is or could be, and you know what the solution could be, please, i would appreciate your help immensly.

PS. I have also conducted 2 system restores of the past month, (July/August) as well as one or two complete scans with Hitman Pro, (inc. virus scanners + all spyware removal programs).
