core2/mainboard/mem help

I'm wanting to purchase a core 2 duo 6600, but I'm a little out of date when it comes to memory and mainboards.
I want 2 gigs of some pretty fast ram, but I don't want to buy ram that the socket 775 mainboards aren't able to handle yet anyway, cuz that'd be useless.
I was thinking about an Asus P5W DH Deluxe as mainboard and OCZ mem (1GB x 2 PC6400 DDR2, CL4 (OCZ, OCZ2P8002GK))
What do you guys suggest?
(and no, google is not my friend. tried to find some info but it's all mixed opinions)
