I've just read Ronners Forum Thread ('Tuned.') about Mikzaa and think it's main point got a bit lost, while everyone was either flaming Ronner or trying to say that this doesn't involve any other program.

This discussion looks a bit like the chase for the limit in tweaking with _and_ without videodrivers/settings
The fact that everyone tried to prove that this is possible without using video drivers shows me that most of you/us think that if something is possible without drivers it's allowed. And everything else should be forbidden. But if a simple performance slider already does this, the common gamer can't know that this is forbidden, can he?
Read clanbases Rules on Cheating here (there's also a further link to their general cheat policies)
My very own point on this:
I think that we are still missing a good cheat policy which is a bit more specific and also gives the common gamer an easy way to determine and know if it's right what he does. Many current limitations in ET are damn stupid (e.g. no cg_gunX changing allowed, m_pitch is not changeable to everything you want, etc.) and may be a very low lodbias restriction might be stupid as well (dunno if it is engine-limited like picmip) I wouldn't mind if mikzaa's settings were forbidden, though I think that using such settings should be allowed, Saying that anything that interacts with the game is stupid in my opinion, as there are programs that obviously do need to interact with the game for the game to work (e.g. drivers)
