ATi Drivers

Right, so I'm in a mess here, I usually use 5.11 catalyst drivers(radeon 9600 pro) since I only played ET, but now I seem to notice weird graphic bugs in newer games, so I'll probably update. Now, it says the CCC requires the .NET framework, which I am NOT installing in any way, if I download just the drivers and install them without the control center, will they work right? Also, what about omega\dna drivers, are they any good?
