Playing on wireless LAN

Hi!

I'd like to hear from anyone who plays on wireless LAN what their experiences are.

Such observations may include:

- Lag spikes.
- Packetloss.
- Other things!

I am setting up a wireless network at home to appease my parents - I have 6MB ADSL and my networking equipment is not the really cheap, crappy stuff yet it is not top of the range gear either.

So I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences of playing on wireless with me so that I know what I should expect.

Edit: I am on the floor above the router but not very far away.
