Ye Olde Stuff

I've been trying to organize my harddrive lately, and have gone through some really old folders from all the way back to late 2001. I've stumbled upon some seriously old ET- and RtCW-footage along the way, from my time in Parodia and The Killer Bunnies. I found some things I didn't even know existed anymore.

I thought some of you might find these clips amusing, so here they are, in random order along with some descriptions. Enjoy!

Let's start with the original banner of Parodia:

Did you know, that Parodia used to be a clan full of lowskilled fakers? I was Esso, Xpaz played the role of Luck3r and Blackh4t was the mastermind behind the whole conspiracy. The whole Finnish ET-scene was going nuts after word got out that "some guys who used to play MOHAA" beat Mirage and GS in some pracs. Clanbase however didn't find the prank that funny, and chose Dozen over Parodia for Eurocup X. Finally we were exposed, but it was extremely fun while it lasted.

Dozen going boom
Speaking of Dozen, here's the first clip I ever recorded in ET (11 MB). Dozen is having a some kind of a gathering behind the corner in Goldrush, when I rudely interrupt them with a nade. I love the guy who just stands there still with his medipacks, not moving at all. :)

Adventures of the Towernoobs
Now thinking about it, I have even older material availible that might be somewhat interesting. Have you ever wondered what guys liki Vizir and Juhan from Dsky or Feuersturm from Saevus did before they were playing ET in a high level? That's right, they built towers in RtCW!

Here's a clip from really early days of RtCW (28 MB), where the guys were trying to, eh, build a tower... Finally Atlas disconnected due to inactivity and the whole contraption fell. Vizir was spamming in the console how he would "KILL THE GUY WHO LEFT IRL!", hilarious. Music is some random Finnish stuff, "War of Åland" and some song about Lenin.

Fanat!cs goofing around
While we're in RtCW, here's some weird old clip (12 MB) from TKB's attempted brief comeback. Dunno who these Fanat!cs were, but they were true gentlemens at least: in the end the medic even feeds me medipacks, seeing that I'm hurt and in need of aid.

Kekka aka Elwapo
Well, back to ET. This is a clip from the last ET season Rtcw.no held (46 MB) back in the day. TKB was playing against p!mps, and Kekka demonstrates his panzer skills: we lost the game. Quite bad quality. Songs from the Finnish version of Dr. Snuggles and Knight Rider.

pr0geimors
When Feuersturm praises Sic's aiming skills, I'll always remind him of this moment (4,5 MB). Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Music from a famous Finnish childrens program from the 80s, called Hermanni the Clown.

Explosives are dangerous
How about some Parodia action for a change (2 MB)? Jauhis was always craving for explosives, but this is why I was against it... The plant was even a missplant.

KoD learns about rifles
More old Parodia action (2,2 MB). KoD was just entering ET-scene, they obviously hadn't heard about riflegrenades...

Parodia's comeback
Parodia took a brief break before Eurocup XI. However, the players felt like it was the best clan they had played with, so it was reformed. This was from the first game we played after the break (15 MB). And boy, how serious the gaming was right from the start! I heard dio was all excited about that rifleshot, and was making a movie about it: now he doesn't have to...

Pro's to the bone
Here's more evidence of the "new" Parodia's excellence (10 MB). Made after the comeback, from a game against Negative Image. Finnish texts: the first one stating how Shine thinks he's gonna own in this round, Xpaz wondering who's in the well and Mystic yelling that everyone should hold their fire.

Reviving the right way
Well, like we saw above, mistakes happen even in better circles. This clip, however, is a display of pure stupidity (21 MB). I'm glad to be a part of it.

Arachon's moment of glory
After seeing the clip above, you thought nothing could surpass it? Think again. Arachon displays his amazing sense of alertness (7,4 MB).

Random rifles
Some random rifles I found wasting my diskspace:
- Nizou going all out against Aksu (6,2 MB). I'm the helpless teammate who sees his buddy being blown to pieces.
- Rankeri feeling lucky (13 MB). Right before this shot he stated, that he's "gonna take out that MG".

Logfile from Broken - Fast Forward, May 29 2002
Last, a truly classic IRC log. I know the policy of this site is not to release any logs, but this one is a classic from the early days of RtCW, and so old it shouldn't hurt anyone's feelings. Taken from #clanbase.rtcw.

Ever wondered where ivve's lines like:
Quote<ivve|eSports> walking around in your dreamworld and thinking u all rule when u get owned every time.. i dont get it

and
Quote<ivve|eSports> plz omg irl lol noobs, stay to the FACTS

came from? They're all right here...
