Has Team Dignitas moved to the top tier today?
A few hours ago the well known multigaming organisation Team Dignitas, known by many of you for their Enemy Territory team, has announced Intel to be their new head sponsor. Until now just a few organisations in the European Union have had the honor of partnering up with a large organisation like Intel is.
You can read more in the official statement at http://www.team-dignitas.org/index.php?id=4151
I cought up with Dignitas manager NewmaN to ask him some questions about this announcement.
Sainted: Intel is one of the largest and most respected CPU producers in the world. How will your partnership with Intel influence Dignitas in the future?
NewmaN: The partnership with Intel will affect us a lot, biggest change is of course the ability to go to more LANs in the future and to support all our squads even more. We will also be doing some out-of-game activities with them to promote our players and their games.
Sainted: A bit longer than a month ago respected Dutch gaming organisation digitalMind announced their brand gettign bought by CorePad, now a bit longer than a month later we see digitalMind without their former Call of Duty 2 and Counter-Strike source teams. Little is said about the influence of CorePad when digitalMind decided to part ways with these teams, but it's still a bit suspicious. Will Intel have any influence in the games Dignitas is active in?
NewmaN: Not sure if I should comment on dM's choice of teams but they were kinda weird to say the least. About Intel or any of our sponsors having any influence on our games we play they have none and will probably never have. They trust us to make the right choices and give them a high return on their investement.
Sainted: Scan, XFX, Corsair and now Intel, what's next?
NewmaN: We have more stuff in the pipeline but for now we will concentrate on the teams and sponsors we have and improve in all areas, for instance we will try to host a number of tournaments and fun competitions to give something back to the community. We used to do that a lot more before but naturally havn't had time to do that lately :)
Sainted: Okay, thanks for the interview! Good luck to the Dignitas teams and managers in the future. Any shoutouts?
NewmaN: Thanks for the interview and I would like to give shoutouts to all our fans and lovely sponsors Intel, Scan.co.uk, Creative, Corsair, XFX, abit & Qpad
lol cheers meight
