How well is spectating, for TV/broadcasting coverage supported in ETQW? Does ETQW have something similar to Half-Life TV, that can allow a massive amount of spectators? Is there any support for match-recordings, so teams can analyze their performances in tournaments, and others can replay them?
We’ve been working with Christopher Lays ('zinx') on integrating the TV code. This features an unlimited number of broadcast relays and broadcast to a lot of spectating clients (providing there are enough relays to support the load).
The demo-recording functionality in ETQW is pretty advanced, allowing both client-side and server side recording, so that a match can be replayed from any perspective. This feature may be unsupported at release (depending on other gameplay priorities), but it’s our goal that it’ll be superior in functionality to that of competing games once complete.
