At the back end of 2007 a flurry of games were released with huge expectations and reputations, some fulfilled and some failed their hype regardless though gamers were out spending money in droves. However the last big title to be released, was able to pull off a John Cena like performance with just 2 months to play catch up in the 2007 and sell 7 million units.

The BBC states:

Console release that is, on the PC CoD4 didn't even sell twice as much as ET:QW.

Where does it state that it is figures only for consoles.

What I get from this is that it is copies sold in total, console and pc.

Well this list probably includes PC sales as well, but that's not my point. here is a list of the top 10 best selling PC games. I can't find a source stating ET:QW's player numbers but I base it on currently registered players (which only counts players who played online on ranked servers, but excludes players with multiple player id's on their account, so its about accurate I guess).

Well i don't no about the rest of the eu but in england cod4 is defiantly supported more. And im sure the bigger tourneys around the world will start picking it up. As its only been out 2months or so

Doesnt really matter how much money you promise when the teams and players never get them ;)

Anyway my firm belief is that Quakecon isnt really worth the reputation it has, I think its bad, shit to be frank.

I like them for using ET and ETQW though :)

Quakecon does always pay, they just take their time about it. It sucks if you send a team and dont know this cause you expect to get it pretty quickly, but actually 9-12 months is pretty standard, you just have to plan for it, John Carmack is good for his money :P

I might be wrong, but I dont think you've been to quakecon? Until you go, you'll never understand the following it has, it is unique and its bloody amazing.

is this for over all sales or for one console? it would be more even if it was the sales for xbox or pc on its own rather than saying how halo was out done by a game available for 3 different platforms.

but ye nice post. tbh i think fifa out sold them all but im not sure if thats just for xbox sales or at least in the uk.

me too to be honest but there we are,i think over all its still one of the bigger selling games but all the others just topped it in the uk but the initial sales for Halo were huge.

No2. dr kawashima's brain test higher than halo and cod is just awful lol.
