EDiT loses cod4 squad

Europe EDiT who had a long and illustrious history in Call of Duty have sad news, their cod4 squad leaves the organisation. This is due to lack of support from Team-EDiT. Some people will be more suprised about this then others who saw this coming. Other rumours are that the EDiT managent felt that the team didn't have what it takes to become a real top team. The team will continue under their old name Europe Not-Identified.

Statement United Kingdom Revoltz:
With our departure from EDiT yesterday evening, I can say that our communication wasn't superb with the key members of the management. EDiT have great potential as an organisation due to their new website and their history, but they couldn't offer us what we required and we felt that promises weren't met.

Yeah he will send you to Quakecon! At least thats what he promised us to join cZar...
He pretend(ed) to have contracts and contacts which he doesn't; I said this as soon as I saw that Not Identified joined Edit and it still doesn't surprise me at all.
Good luck finding a new organization.

I'm not going to say what oLi allready gave us, because that isnt really your buisiness. But I can tell you that he allready gave us more than we ever got from any manager. He's quite a nice guy & is doing is best to make EDiT big, and providing us with even more stuff.
I also understand he made you promises he couldnt keep but maby he learned from his mistakes.
He's a nice guy, give him a break !

Oli is the first manager i can actually discuss things with when it comes to financial / hardware shit or whatever .
So far he has been extremely reliable. So i kindly ask you not to flame him ty.

he has great promises, he thinks he got contacts etc.. but he hasn't.. he thinks he can get anything, but in fact he only got a contract with steelseries which he didn't even handled himself, but the former manager of EDiT (I think it was 5 steelpads/headsets)

and IF he can get things such as hardware.. he spends them on the wrong teams, as CoD4 has a lot more potentional than ET in the future

Investing in teams is investing in the future, attracting the mainstream.... You can become a stable pwning team in ET, winning every single match in 2 years (for example).. But people/sponsors don't care about the relative small ET scene. CoD4 has way more clans, way more players, a brighter future. ET is going downhill unfortunately.

Maybe CoD4 has a bigger scene, more lans but until now the Wolfenstein series has had 4 (or even 5?) major tournaments (Quakecon) and CoD just a CPL stop and a WSVG stop (and WSVG is dead now, go figure :P). And W:ET still is not that dead, CDC4 coming up, untitled tournament by tosspot coming up later this year, GGT 2008 in poland still coming, who knows what comes after that.

Your talking about minor tournaments.. Crossfire is one of the few that is keeping ET alive.. and about the past tournaments, that guarantees nothing for the future. I'm not anti-ET.. I've played it myself for 4 years, I'm also not saying ET is dying. I'm saying the big sponsors aren't interested in ET.

Look at teams such as fnatic and 4kings.. they all go for CoD4, only dignitas had an ET team. It's the sad truth that ET is unattractive for the mainstream.

And minor tournaments is all the W:ET scene needs to be successful for the players part of it.

About your visions on CoD4, fnatic and four kings are just two names, I don't see a cod4 team at mym, sk, or mouz at the moment. Just three of the European G7 organizations have a CoD4 team (including PGS), and in two of these organizations they are just academy members. The future of CoD4 is a book which still has to be written, however I doubt it will ever become the next big thing, mainly because the developer support focuses itself on the console versions and the publisher doesn't seem interested in investing money in any more competitions.

Also after the WSVG died I doubt the other big tournaments will be so willing to feature a new game, and by the time the game is not new anymore CoD5 will be released.

You mean like the current fnatic team turning down SK? I love the way you try to bring COD down as many times as possible and I would've gladly jumped on the bandwagon if you were talking about COD1/2.

The thing is though, COD4 appeals to many players coming from all sorts of games.
Apart from CPC/CDC, level7, MILKlan, tek9lan and some non-BYOCs I probably forgot, there are still local BYOCs that didn't even get attention in COD2 (remember, COD2 didn't really bring in players from other games).
COD doesn't have to desperately hold on to 2 tournaments a year to host their game, the competitive community is large enough to make things work regardless.

ps: I think crossfire newsposts provide a good example of how COD4 evolved community-wise compared to COD2

I don't have anything against the cod series, I loved cod2 however I can't say I share the same feelings for CoD4 now, mainly because it killed a good working game and added CS like features and theme, removing the beloved and skill rewarding bolt action rifles in the process. Not loving the game does not mean I dislike it though.

CoD4 might appeal to more players from other games, but CoD2 has appealed to a lot of players from other games as well (mainly from W:ET and DoD).

And about Crossfire covering CoD4 news, we did the same for CoD2.

This is for everyone to read. I do not and did not promise stuff i cannot give at the point of saying that statement. I dont know what youve heard from the COD4 team but i did not tell them they would 100% get LAN support.

The reason why we didnt support the COD4 team as much is because they were very new to edit and did not prove themselves enough. When they joined they knew the situation but they became over-confident and wanted more. Stop this pointless blame game and just grow up. At the end of the day this is "online" stuff.

does it really matter? Alot of these comments here show how immature some of the COD4 community is. You guys have got to remember EDiT has been inactive for along time and without a site until last week or so. You can't expect us to snatch up big sponsors without a site.
Also reason why it was "no comment" is because i wasnt asked.
