Call of Duty: World at War trailer revealed

After a teaser trailer earlier this morning, Activision has released a full length official trailer for the latest installment in the Call of Duty franchise: Call of Duty: World at War. The game will feature a pacific and a Russian campaign and takes place during the second world war.

CoD: World at War is being developed by Treyarch and uses an enhanced version of the highly praised Call of Duty 4 engine. The game is set to be released on various consoles and the PC in Activision's current fiscal year which ends in March 2009.

In this game you can't just shoot trough things, but you will also make physical holes in walls and stuff. I'm not sure if that works in multiplayer as well, but imagine that you could just shoot holes in walls and look trough them to see if someone is camping behind them :P

I can hardly imagine that being possible in multiplayer, or only at small scale (eg. holes dissappear after a while).

It doesn't, it's pretty decent. The only thing is that the game play was developed to suit COD style camping and such...

As a makeshift comparison, let's say Battlefield players had taken up development of etmain instead of the etpro team. Their mod would likely have drivable vehicles, more spam, whatever. The current player base would likely dislike it. That doesn't change the fact that the engine, and basically essence of ET has potential.

Hope that makes sense, I'm just after a math exam and am not thinking in sentences. ;(

They would probably have removed stopwatch, campaign and objective game modes, removed class based abilities, remove trick jumps, make the vehicles ultra strong and reduce player speed by 50%, but hey who knows.

well, you never know, my guess is that this game is different from CoD4 and no competive CoD4 players will make a move over to this game, knowing that there will be a sequel 203 times a year.

But maybe it's more fun for us ET players, who knows.

most of all the gametrailers seem pretty nice but,
afaik were these guys also responsible for cod 3, which was console-only game. (sucked)


...so i dont expect much of cod5. imho it ll fail hard.
