Wolfenstein release date rumours emerge

Reports emerging from various computer sales companies are suggesting that the next installment of Wolfenstein may just be 3 months away. Thats right, April 2009 some 7 and a half years after Return to Castle Wolfenstein could be the month that changes everyones lives (and not because I'll be turning 23).

Inspired by this journal release dates have surfaced from the New Zealand herald (that gaming institution) of a April 24th release date whilst Play.com has June 26th as its release date (backed up by games tracker).

The latter would prove unlikely if its to be considered a major release for its publishers as recent years have seen major releases limited either Spring or Pre-Christmas and with the previous wolfenstein title selling over 1 million copies, it could be considered a major release.

so far what they said is that they leave multiplayer exact same as wolfenstein enemy territory, but they are adding stuff on SP

ye.. mortar, mg, rifle, mines. I hope its a lot different than the ET gamestyle to be honest. The jumping part is fun, same goes for the teamplay-based gameplay. I also hope they'll put up the firerate again !

MP will probably have strafe jumping too. Quake Wars did and it was based of the id tech 4 engine too. Good news!

The whole idea, concept and potential was there. My comment was just to highlight that it is possible to implement a style that is compareable to that of ET and RTCW.

I don't see why some online store would know when Wolfenstein will be released. They're just guessing. Remember the different amazon / play.com release date estimates for ET:QW? They kept changing and changing, and they never got it right.

I hope my machine can handle it, but I think it can.

Atleast Q4 and D3 ran semi-fine (25-40 fps) with my old graphics FX5500 and only 512 MB ram.
