FlyingDJ Moves Over To GIGA2

image: UlikurzToday a good friend of mine announced his departure of Inside The Game. Germany FlyingDJ has been asked to join GIGA2 to help make it strong. After a lot of talks FlyingDJ has decided to go for it. This will also means we wont be seeing him around that much. Ofcourse this breaking news could not go unnoticed, and I decided to catch up with FlyingDJ for an interview. Here's what he had to say:

So mr DJ, this is your going away interview, but let's start by telling how you actually got here. How did you become a shoutcaster and when did you join iTG?
QuoteIt's actually not as big a deal as one might think. I started casting with the final of the tF Cup, wA! vs. uQ. I kept going, I got flamed, I received praise, and I really loved it. So I worked on my style, my grammar, my vocab and eventually applied to iTG. I became a part of iTG at the end of March 2006. The rest is history, as they say.

So they say;-) Now after 3 months already you have decided to leave Inside The Game, and move over to another broadcasting station. You are going to GIGA2. What was the reason why you went to GIGA2? Were you no longer satisfied within iTG or was the offer just that good?
QuoteThere are a number of reasons for this decision, being unhappy in iTG is not one of them. I feel good working for iTG and I would not be where I am now without them. However, the offer I got gave me the opportunity to work on a thrilling new project with an experienced crew, I get to see another city and I can continue studying while having a real job training in the media branch. It's an opportunity that does not come too often, so I decided I wouldn't want to miss it and regret my decision later on.

You refer to it as 'having a real job'. Mind sharing with us what exactly this job will hold for you?
Quote A lot of work without a doubt ;-) I will start doing the English commentary for the shooter part of GIGA II in the middle of July. I will have to write news, translate the page, host shows, go to events...all that stuff.

Getting payed;-)
QuoteYes, but I can tell you, I won't be driving around in a Porsche after a year.

So GIGA2 is a new shot, and you are taking it. Will this means you will leave the scene (read: xfire.be and gamestv.org), and concentrate solely on GIGA2?
QuoteI will have less time to play or be really involved in the community. And I will have to refresh xfire every 10 seconds, not every 5 like I do now. ET is where I come from though, so I will not entirely disappear. How exactly I am still going to be involved, I don't know. I will make sure ET gets more attention on GIGA II though.

Well that's always good to hear. On iTG you have your own show, lugerfrag. You have been so kind to ask me (ofcourse I gracefully accepted) to continue to show, will you have your own show on GIGA2 aswell?
QuoteIt's still a long way to got for the English part and too many things are uncertain to say something about that. If that ever becomes reality it will very likely not be ET only ;-)

So for the moment on GIGA2 you will basically be shoutcasting matches, events and brining news, only more than for ET only?
QuoteYes, sadly, ET is only minor player in today's big esports game. CS, CoD2, Q4 are the hot shots. Maybe Quake Wars.

Maybe. So today it has become official, but when are you actually moving over to GIGA2 and leaving iTG?
QuoteI'm literally packing my suitcase, trying to find the perfect appartment and setting up everything. It's a big step that takes a little while and I need to finish some uni stuff here, so I guess I'll stick around for another 2-3 weeks.

Will you still be casting for iTG those 2-3 weeks?
QuoteI think so, with EuroCup coming to an end, I wouldn't want to miss that ;-)

May I thank you for this interview and a wonderful time in iTG. We all wish you the best of luck in your future gaming career and don't be a stranger:-)
QuoteI won't, cheers for interviewing me.
