Fragmovie Making Tips from the best!

The makers of Get Quaked 3 arguably the most "beautiful" Quake 3 movie to date have published a lenghtly article on how to get the most from your movie making experience! With the ET scene being awash with budding movie makers, its perhaps appropriate to bring to attention the tips from the stars of the fragmovie world!

QuoteIt takes a lot of patience to make a video like Get Quaked 3. The learning process involved in getting to know the software (and hardware) I was working with had a big impact on the final product. Because Fei (my editing partner for the movie) and I took our time in getting to know what was available to us, as well as using initiative to obtain what wasn’t available to us, we were able achieve whatever we wanted.

Our idea was to create a video, showing the world the best frags (or shots / kills) seen before in a popular video game. Quake III Arena was played competitively for money at events such as ESWC (Electronic Sports World Cup), WCG (World Cyber Games), CPL (Cyberathelete Professional League) and QuakeCon. Prize money was anywhere between $3,000 and $50,000 USD for first place. Now with Quake4 and the increase in popularity and exposure in the gaming industry, we are sure to see more tournaments like these, bigger and better than before.

So, our main goal was to expose Quake 3 in a way that would make people look back on the game and see the huge potential for upcoming videos and entertainment for other games the future. This is how we did it.
