With only one day to go before we can all enjoy our (pirated?) copy of Modern Warfare 2, the next instalment of the Call of Duty series, the anticipation can't be more extensive.
Retailer Gamestop purposely broke the November 10th street date this weekend, which means a whole lot US citizens are able to buy the game before the official release date, resulting in Modern Warfare 2 footage has spawning all over the internet.
This is a little compilation of the best video's. Most of them are from the multiplayer part, however beware of spoilers!
Next to these often spoiler-loaded youtube video's, the Americans were kind enough to supply us with a full list of weapons featured in the game.
Furthermore, other developers are following the release of the biggest title of the year closely. At around 4:27 on GTTV’s Nintendo Special, Reggie Fils-Aime confidently states that the New Super Mario Bros. Wii will "outsell Modern Warfare 2 on a single platform".
Basically, he predicted that the Mario game would sell better than the 360 or PS3 versions of the shooter.
He did however state that it’s going to be a close race, and he thinks MW2 will be a great game and plans on playing it. Listen and watch for yourself here.
As if PC gamers don't have enough bad luck already with their MW2 version, now it seems the game doesn't even work properly. The PC version comes with 2 discs but it seems that only the actual game is working and not the extra content.
MapModNews reports that "the first DVD/Disc is about 6.9 GB which seems to be the standard size for games that are coming out now. Unfortunately, each drive refuses to recognize the DVD. The DVD drives rattle around and you can hear the disc just clattering in the DVD Drive. Now when something like this happens, questions comes to mind and that is if this is a manufacturing defect and if there are other discs out there that have this problem."
A German game magazine reports the same problem. Every drive in their editorial office refuses the second DVD (they have seven PC's and four copies Modern Warfare 2 for PC). They say it’s definitely a production error.
Luckily for some most of this "bad news" actually works in favour of the pirates and release groups. The jihad about dedicated servers, the latest interview with the developers about the PC version of the game, and now the early sales will result in a faster cracked game with a lot more illegal downloads. Bummer for Activision!

Think it's a problem with the way our minds work :p we seek out the most logical efficient way of doing shit, which sucks all the fun outta it! Learn how to beat then repeat - it's nothing compared to the variety of mp!
However, I do enjoy a good action movie. And a lot of the cinematic artifacts found in those movies can also be found in the CoD games. For example the scene where you're running through the woods with a nice red sky and all of a sudden you see 2 huge rockets fired off through the sky with this huge smoke trail behind them. Or the sniper mission, which is basically no shooting whatsoever, just sneaking around in an all-scripted mission. It really makes gaming more exciting and a lot more fun to do imo.
Or Prometheus (http://www.moddb.com/mods/prometheus), which just came out on UDK. That shit is HARD.
But yes indeed, MP is what its all about.

Once the game is released on steam, people will have the exe, but then they still require a cd-key to play the SP. So then you need the crack. Seeing as the crack can only be made when they have the original .exe, they will take at least 1 day or 2 after the 10th before you can play it.
