BRINK footage and fall 2010 release date

Today the very first official BRINK footage has hit the Internet, along with a new release date: Fall 2010.

In the footage BRINK's game director and Splash Damage CEO United Kingdom Paul "Locki" Wedgwood walks you through the airport map and shows some of BRINK's "smart" movement.

G4TV HD

The game is currently pre-alpha, and features three different body types: muscled; smart, not very agile, can carry heavy guns and eat a lot of bullets; regular; and acrobatic, faster, limited to lighter guns, can't catch too many bullets. It is as of yet unknown with what body type the video was recorded.

Fall 2010 gives them plenty of time to nail it! No excuses :P
Interesting. Tho, the jumps are so Mirror's edge alike :)
looks nice
looking good, not sure if it will be a game for me, but we will see, won't give it much attention nor judge it before i played it first.
smells like an xbox game :/ but i will admit that the smart movement is a 'cool' feature as so is the rest :DD and the graphics do look great. No run + shoot tho ? looked like he was wobbling his gun while running and prolly cant shot.

Play first judge later if its a win or noT.
its a console version, they wont have shoot + run on that i guess

I wish it works out, not getting my hopes up tho :[
When is beta release?:)
lets hope this wont be another fail :c movement looks shit:/
might be high bobroll just like default settings in ET
Parent
Imo that's been done with the heavy body type and even if it wasn't - they're aiming to make it as customizable as ET is - including movement speed.

Liking the smart feature
Finally!!

When he was just walking the movement looked so much like Wolfenstein it made me sad :( But as soon as he started running and using SMART, it look awesome and nothing like idtech4/Wolfenstein. Please make this game good Splash Damage, and I want more footage now!
haha what a piece of shit
Well, I do hope game will be better than Wolfenstein, but somehow that movement leaves impression of that same sort of heavy led boot feeling as in ET:QW .. and that weapon swinging is just as in Wolfenstein ... :o

But until there's no downloadable and "see for yourself" content (beta, demo, cracked full or whatever), won't judge it. But yeah .. hopefully this is recorded with muscled one, but if that was the fast one - I'm afraid to see the muscled one, lol ... :X
Looks interesting :o
Can't wait!
Eh...yeah.
Finally, a game that lets you reflect how much of a badass you are by outfits, been waiting for this ever since Barbie World Online.
looks very cool except the jumping and sliding

fallout 3+borderlands+mirrors edge+fear+hl2(yeye reminds me)

awesome
Looks like some promise of truly fast movement which is very uncommon nowadays. Still, shooting style will be yet another cod clone (no run and shoot) so it will defeat the purpose.
make it on steam platform please and no dedicated servers and SDK !
its already decided that Valve (Steam) will distribute it :P
Parent
tbh nothing wrong with steam, just dedicated servers and sdk
Parent
well yeah, i got no problem with steam, but i don't really like it either...
Parent
players on pc will b having dedicated servers but console owners...hehehe....p2p..just like mw2 :DDD
Parent
That doesn't rule out whether the game will be released on physical copies too.
Parent
pushed back release date . ...now there's a slap in the face :(
did they ever announce an earlier release date? I think there was an assumed release date of earlier in the year but I dont think they ever said that officially.
Parent
officially they've said "spring 2010" countless of times. but not an actual date no.
Parent
I want it to not suck but I think it will. It's a shame because it has quite a good concept... but EUGHRHGH id Tech 4.

Everyone seems to praise the S.M.A.R.T feature but really that's the opposite of what you want. Hopefully there will be other ways to control the movement that give you more control/are more rewarding.
already been stated by richard ham that you can use the button manually, and it'll be more precise too
Parent
sliding will be the new proning !
Slide-whore!
Parent
thought the same

Somebody has a different link then the one on G4TV because it's blocked here, stupid proxy :/
nice :)
video keeps breaking up for me >.<
The movement has the ability to be really refreshing, but the guns show no recoil at all, and iron sights will slow the game down. I also dont like that you cant run and shoot at the same time. Could be a good game, but has a lot of the mainstream components that tend to make a less competitive game. Will be interesting to see how it develops.

I just hope Rahdo is still here checking the comments.
Don't do the same mistake as Wolfenstein, don't make a cod-like :o
Another Brink Video Preview with gameplay - Container City! - http://bit.ly/7ZqJ9x
et objective gameplay? escorting a vehicle, planting dyna etc. <3

looking good so far

Amazing. Need Beta/Demo news. Fall is too far away D=
The movement looks nice (although probably wont take any practice to master it :I), but that's about it.

The worst parts are iron sights and CONSOLE FUCKING PORT FUCK ASDDFKSDFASDEFG!!!!!!!!

Will be just another mainstream shit like 90% of all "big games" developed nowadays. I wish we could just revive ET.
Part 2 of the Brink Video Preview Container City (with ingame gameplay)! - http://bit.ly/67s5uI
limbo is gone... you need to change class at commandpost. slows down the game pace a lot imho.
you just need to camp the cp to frustrate the opponent who cant do the obj without the right class. sd should review this.

I like:
the pretty fast weaponswitch.
that you can shove
the movement ( looks great so far )

I dont like:
1 shot to kill shotgun. (dunno if that guy had 100% hp) so just speculation
anti personal turrets. anti vehicle turrets should be enough.

hope for ui_showgun 0 because this IS models are really killing the view.

a ingame footage with a player with decent aiming would be nice too xD

in all brink looks really promising to me ... >>> omfg fall 2010 :(((
